Biography & Lore
The Nightmare Desert is an immense region of the Dream Realm, stretching east of the Forgotten Shore along the Hollow Mountains. Its landscape is dominated by seemingly endless white dunes, scorching heat, and scattered black ruins half-buried beneath the sand.
The region was once the site of an ancient battlefield connected to the war between the gods and Daemons. When night falls, the desert becomes even more dangerous as countless Deathless rise from beneath the sands and continue an eternal conflict.
Dominating the horizon is the Tomb of Ariel, an enormous black pyramid that can appear impossibly distant no matter how long a traveler moves toward it. The mysterious structure is intimately connected to Ariel, the Demon of Dread, and conceals secrets far beyond what its exterior suggests.
